We mentioned last week that Amazon was carrying shark fin soup through third-party vendors Roland and Pacific Rim Gourmet. Amazon has since dropped Pacific Rim's product, but has continued to sell Roland's (after deleting all negative customer comments concerning their product), and has even added another product, VitaminLife's Shark Fin Cartilage Powder.Amazon should be ashamed to be carrying shark fin products. They should promote sustainable fishing practices by pulling all shark fin products from their catalog -- rather than occupy their time censoring critical comments left by concerned citizens. If you feel outraged, you can:
- Leave feedback at Amazon's product page for Roland Shark Fin Soup and VitaminLife.
- Participate in the discussion over at Amazon about the products and why it's bad for Amazon to carry them.
- Send e-mail to Roland Food at Phyllis.Goldberg@rolandfood.com and VitaminLife at customerservice@vitaminlife.com.
- Write to Amazon.com at Advantage Customer Service (advantage@amazon.com) and Investor Relations (ir@amazon.com).
- Spread the word through your webpage, blog, etc. (Eric has even provided the appropriate code at Wetpixel).
- Boycott Amazon.com until they comply.
- Be subversive, and add your own "customer images" of the products to Amazon's website, just like Nula.

1. It's all about the money....Amazon couldn't care less about political correctness, the environment or sustainable fishing as long as they can make a little money NOW. We should all boycott their crap....most of it can be had cheaper on other more responsible sites anyway. Afterall what's next? Tiger pelts? Bald Eagle feathers? I know, maybe they can start selling ancient antiquities....I here there is a lot of call for those on the black market. WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!!!!!
