Despite international outcries surrounding the horrible, cruel practice of shark finning, it seems Amazon is selling shark fin soup (in fact, a "Classic recipe Shark Fin Soup with Crab meat"!) through a vendor, Pacific Rim Gourmet. I *suspect* Amazon does not realize that it's supporting this atrocious practice, but I may be incorrect. If you think it's wrong for Amazon to sell shark fin soup, please take a moment to:
-
Leave feedback on the product's page, requesting people stop buying this product.
-
Send an e-mail to Pacific Rim Gourmet at customerservice@pacificrim-gourmet.com.
-
Write to Amazon Customer Service and demand they stop selling the product.
-
Spread the word. Tell people why shark finning is bad!
[Thanks, Jason!]
UPDATE: When I wrote this post originally, there were 11 comments on Amazon's site protesting this product. Five hours later, there are 23.
UPDATE 2: Amazon has removed the item. Great work, people!

1. Three weeks ago on a trip to Las Vegas I noticed at a restaurant named Pearl in the MGM Grand Hotel listed shark fin soup for sale on its menu. The restaurant was closed at the time and I was unable to to locate any individual in the hotel that could provide me with more information regarding if what they were serving was truly real shark fin soup, but that has not stop me from still trying to find out more about what they are doing and stop the serving of shark fin soup in Vegas.
