Announcing the Finalists for the Divester/Wetpixel T-Shirt Contest

Recently, we asked you to submit t-shirt designs for a joint Divester/Wetpixel T-shirt contest. As you recall, the theme was "Exploring the Oceans," and we had several clever submissions. Thanks to everyone who went to the time to use their imaginations! Recently, we narrowed the submissions to the Final 5 and are hereby presenting them to you. Look over the choices, select your favorite, and then vote. Voting closes October 11.

Shortly after announcing the winner, we'll explain how you can order one of the winning t-shirts and show everybody that you Explore the Oceans.

Shirt 1 features a deep sea diver under the theme on the chest and a clever ocean-based manipulation of the periodic table on the rear. Here's a closer look at the Periodic Chart of the Oceans (be sure to see how the designer has "renamed" the elements).tshirt 2

Shirt 2 features a creative, colorized logo on the chest, and divers and marine life swimming around a silhouetted camera housing on the rear. The viewfinder reads Divester.com, and the base of the camera's arm reads Wetpixel.com.tshirt 3

Shirt 3 features a stylized whale shark over the breast with the word "explore" smartly translated into several languages around the image. The rear of the shirt features a diver approaching the whale shark for a photo, with an excellent quote by Rachel Carson that reads, "We can only sense that in the deep and turbulent recesses of the sea are hidden mysteries far greater than any we have solved." (The creator of this shirt suggests a black shirt may be best. What do you think?)tshirt 4

Shirt 4 has no front image. The rear of the shirt features a cool Rorschach-inspired, blotter-style splash indicating three divers, and features the word "Explore."

Shirt 5 features a happy whale spouting the phrase "Expand your Horizons" on the front of the shirt and the words "Explore the Ocean" on the rear.shirt 5

After looking at the selection, decide which you think is the best, and submit your vote! Thanks to those who submitted designs and good luck to the Top 5!
