Today's This Is Why We Dive comes courtesy of Rubicon669. As this picture suggests, swimming with stingrays in the Cayman Islands is like tumbling on a freshly mowed lawn with a dozen playful puppies.
To clarify: I selected this image to demonstrate that virtually every interaction with stingrays are harmless and even enjoyable. I had no intention of disrespecting anyone. Sorry if anyone felt that was the case.

6. At Stingray City they mention a few things, pre-dive:
-- Don't grab the ray's tail
-- Males are smaller and less friendly than females so leave them alone
The biggest warning:
-- Try to avoid a 'stingray kiss' (aka: hickey) when they go looking for the piece of squid you're feeding them
Like any wild animal, you have the choice to leave it alone, attempt an interaction while respecting its boundaries, or take your chances.
