It seems this weekend was bad for divers. In the UK, for instance, 1person died and 4 others got bent after an accident at the 13-acre quarry called Stoney Cove. A little over 100 feet deep, and regarded as one of the best inland dive sites in the world, Stoney Cove is used by 60,000 people each year.
Unfortunately, on Sunday, a group of divers, led by non-Stoney-Cove-instructors were participating in a training program designed to develop their deep diving skills. Soon after the dive began, one of the divers surfaced, claiming another diver was in trouble. Four other divers in the group brought the distressed diver to the surface. In bringing the distressed diver to the surface, however, those divers ascended too quickly, got hit, and were taken to a recompression chamber for treatment. Unfortunately, the distressed diver was pronounced dead at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. The four other divers are not believed to be suffering life-threatening injuries.

1. Have there been any updates as to what happened to the diver in the first place? I searched some news sites and only found the same information here.
