Divester Podcast 4: Interview With Tim Simond

Dive In Style on your iPodI told you recently about Dive In Style, the new, lavish, un-put-down-able book by Tim Simond. Well, I managed to put the book down long enough to interview Tim about his book and the work that went into creating it. On the surface, it would seem that making a book about diving in beautiful resorts around the world would be a breeze. However, to hear Tim tell it, it was actually a ton of work. I almost felt sorry for him. Almost.

I think what I liked most about talking to Tim was that he's an ordinary guy who simply loves diving and taking photos of beautiful marine life. In our conversation, we talked about how he pitched his idea for Dive In Style to the publisher; what kind of work was involved in making the book; what qualifies as "diving in style"; and some of the best places to dive in style. He also alludes to Dive In Style II, and explains how he plans to keep Dive In Style's website current with updates on the hotels mentioned in the book, as well as hotels that he visits...but that don't quite make the cut. (In other words, check in often at DiveInStyle.com to see what's cooking.) The interview is 23 minutes long, and Tim provides lots of good details and tips for your next dive trip. Check it out!
