Evidently, the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame – which
has been around since 2000! – launched its official website last weekend. The launch was accompanied by a special
awards presentation ceremony for Hall of Famers Hans
and Lotte Hass. The site features Hall-of-Famers’ bios, photos and videos from all of the 40 members. There’s also a news section, a history of the organization, and an invitation to the 2007 induction ceremony. The ceremony is
scheduled for January 11th. Who wants to go with me? BTW -- Long term plans for establishing a physical location for the Hall (located on Grand Cayman) were initiated
in 2000. However, 2004's Hurricane Ivan delayed the plans. For now, the Hall is only a virtual one.
We’ve mentioned the Scuba Hall
of Fame in the
past, but lamented that it was, except for some sparse press releases, a chimera. How does one visit the Hall?
Where do we learn who is even in the Hall? Thankfully, Cayman Net News has galloped
in on its trusty steed to answer some of our questions.
