I stumbled on a new dive blog today, and boy, is it great. Jack Connick, a Seattle resident who’s
been diving for the past 6 years, writes the Optical Ocean blog, which,
as you may be able to guess, deals with underwater photography as its primary focus. In addition to showcasing his
considerable skill, and providing some brief trip reports, Connick also provides
underwater imaging tips (like his 7 Tips for Inon External
Lenses & Ikelite Housings) and a hands-on review of Ikelite’s
housing for Fuji’s F810 Camera.
After reading what he has to say, head over to his images on Flickr. Be certain to check out his Truk Lagoon photo set as well his Palau photostream. In addition to documenting his dive trips, his macro shots – especially those dealing with nudibranchs or those he shot in the Channel Islands – are exquisite.

1. Thanks Willy! I'm new to the blogging world and it's nice to see people enjoy my efforts.
I have quite a few older and longer trip reports and many more photos from Truk, Palau, Fiji, La Paz and the Pacific Northwest and Canada on my older website; http://OpticalOcean.com. I'll try to add some better links to those reports off the blog soon.
The Optical Ocean blog will also cover sailing as well as diving in the Pacific Northwest as the weather gets better and I'm able to take the boat out.
If anyone has any questions on destinations, photos or whatever I'm happy to answer emails or comments left on the blog.
Jack
