Tonight at 8p.m., NOVA is broadcasting Hitler’s Sunken Secret, a research expedition that intends to solve the 60-year-old mystery about the role the Allies played in preventing a Nazi nuclear bomb. Using an ROV, researchers will explore the Norwegian ferry Hydro – now resting 1300 below the surface of Norway’s Lake Tinn – and try to determine whether its cargo of “heavy water” was destined for the Nazi's secret atomic bomb project. Featuring interviews with witnesses and footage of the opening of one of the purported “heavy water” barrels snared from the bottom of the lake, the show could be explosive.
