I’ve gushed about H20 Audio’s waterproof housings for iRivers and iPods before. And I’m going to do it again. Sorta. According to this press release, H2O Audio yesterday released its newest waterproof MP3 player housing. Their new DV-i700 “allows recreational and technical divers to listen to music up to a depth of 300 feet,” using their case in conjunction with an iRiver iFP-700 player. The price is not stated, and there’s no mention of the i700 on H20’s website. (Their other DV- model runs $200.)
Okay, great, but does anybody else think that seems like overkill? Three hundred feet? Why not spend their R&D money on a housing for an iPod that goes deeper than 10 feet? (Nevertheless, I’ll still add it to our next Round-up of Waterproof MP3 Players and Waterproof Housings for MP3 Players.)

1. Awesome! Maybe not the best idea while diving, I'd rather not be TOO relaxed, but this would kick behind for snorkeling!
