Cave diving is dangerous, especially deep cave diving. Looks like the Florida Cave, Eagle’s Nest, almost claimed another life. An experienced, certified cave diver was pulled to the surface with no vitals, revived and is now in critical condition at the hospital. The jury is still out on what happened and hopefully she makes a speedy and full recovery, so we will need to wait until we get more information to see what really happened.
The amazing thing is that a photographer pulled up right to take some pictures of the area just as she was surfacing; he called 911 and immediately began administering CPR. The article states that 15 to 20 mins of CPR brought her back to life and she started to breath on her own.
Wow.
Eagle's Nest claimed two lives last year when divers got confused and lost inside the system.

1. god bless her buddy for working so hard and risking so much to try and bring her back where she could be helped. three years ago i went through the exact same experience in the little river cave system when 500 feet back my buddy had a seizure. words can't describe the horror, desperation and the struggle to bring someone back - and to lose. the help i had from florida cave divers that day was the best on earth and the shands hospital did everything they could but couldn't restart his heart. there is no true consolation but having had so many people work so hard to save my friend was something that will inspire me and something i'll appreciate for the rest of my life. hopefully this buddy will find peace in knowing that he went far beyond the call of duty for his friend and did everything humanly possible - as well as the impossible - to try and save her.
