Last week, Panasonic unveiled three new cameras. Two of the cameras – the DMC-FX9 and the DMC-LX1 – are compacts digitals. The third, the Lumix DMC-FZ30, is a heavier, enhanced, 8-Megapixel, 12x Optical Zoom camera that intends to succeed the FZ20. (If you’re interested, DPReview has a side-by-side comparison of the FZ20 and the FZ30.)
Although Engadget claims the price tag will be $950, Froogle indicates the price might be closer to $700. (Panasonic’s website says “See Dealer for Price.”) Digideep shows three underwater housings for the FZ20, ranging in price from 200 - 800 Euros ($240 - $1000). Although the FZ30 hasn’t got an available u/w housing yet – heck, the camera's not even in production! – you can bet your memory cards that at least one will be available soon.
