Equinox's $499 Underwater Digital Camera

SeaPixWe’ve mentioned that Equinox manufactures housings for underwater cameras, but now it seems they’re getting into the camera game, too. Actually, they’ve cleverly combined a Sony camera with Samsung components and dropped it into one of their housings and called it the SeaPix 5.0. A camera by any other name would still shoot as sweet…

The SeaPix 5.0 package includes a 5.25 mega-pixel camera boasting a built-in memory (that is easy to upgrade) of 16 mb. The SeaPix housing – built of neutrally-buoyant polycarbonate materials – has a depth rating of 150 feet. The best news? The camera and housing are priced at $499. File under: “I saved so much money by diving during low season that I could afford to go out and buy a new camera.”
