I just mentioned the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve and the attempts to designate it the 14th Marine Sanctuary in the NOAA’s website about the area is great. They have tons of information about the reserve’s inhabitants, organized by species-type (mammals, fish, invertebrates, etc.), that explains such thing as diet, endangered-status-level, distribution, and more. In my mind, though, the best feature is the truly amazing videos of the animals (e.g., check out the video of the Humpback Whale). Be warned: the video-music is a little cheesy – my wife asked if I were watching Little House on the Prairie.
Visiting NOAA’s website will only make you want to visit the Reserve. Unfortunately,
